SHAFTER, CALIFORNIA (December 29, 2016) – 48 year old Marcelo Diaz-Aguirre has been identified as the victim killed in a tragic accident on Thursday, December 29th, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 7:00 am and involved a Honda Civic and a Ford Excursion. A vehicle became stuck on the train tracks near Santa Fe Way, and traffic backed up as a result. A silver Honda Civic approaching the scene was unable to stop in time and veered into the path of oncoming traffic and was struck by a black Ford Excursion.

The driver of the Honda, 48 year old Marcelo Diaz-Aguirre, was tragically killed in the accident. The driver of the SUV did not report sustaining any injuries, and remained at the scene to cooperate with local authorities.
