The accident happened around 1:43 pm on the southbound side of the 405 Freeway near the 605 Freeway near 7th Street. A man stopped on the side of the 405 Freeway and exited his silver Toyota Camry for an unknown reason. He was then struck by an unidentified vehicle. The impact threw him into the air and down into lanes.
The pedestrian was seriously injured in the accident, and his current condition is unknown. The accident remains under investigation by the CHP at this time to determine cause and liability.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
