SANTA ROSA: Ananiy Malinovsky Killed, Alex Tupinov Injured, Sergey Golubyatnikov Missing after Boating Accident

SANTA ROSA, CALIFORNIA (January 30, 2017) – Three men were involved in a boating accident on Monday just off the coast of Tomales Bay and Point Reyes, according to a local news source. (map)

Ananiy Malinovsky, Sergey Golubyatnikov, and Alex Tupinov were fishing on the bay, about 200 feet from the tip of Tomales Point. Their boat was struck by two large waves, knocking all three off the boat.

Alex Tupinov managed to swim to shore and was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. 55 year old Ananiy Malinovsky was spotted by the National Park Service and his body was recovered. The third man, Sergey Golubyatnikov, remains missing at this time. The search and investigation remains ongoing.
