SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA (April 5, 2017) – A pedestrian was injured in a hit and run accident on Wednesday morning off Interstate 10, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 10:30 am at the Interstate 10 westbound off-ramp for 4th Avenue. A blue sedan was reportedly exiting when they struck a pedestrian, and then fled the scene.
The pedestrian appeared to be injured, and the Santa Monica fire department paramedics responded to the scene. The condition of the pedestrian is unknown at this time. Authorities are on the hunt for the suspect vehicle, and the investigation is ongoing.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
