“Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Collision”
SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA (March 5, 2017) – A male pedestrian was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Neilson Way near Hollister Avenue early Sunday morning, according to the Santa Monica Police Department. (map)
The incident occurred at approximately 1:20 a.m., when a male pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on the 2400 block of Neilson Way near Hollister Avenue. Police officers were dispatched to the scene to find the pedestrian lying in the roadway, unresponsive with significant head trauma. The driver fled the scene.
The male pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment of the major injuries sustained in the accident, according to police officials. Police officials described the vehicle as a 2012-2016 silver Toyota Camry 4-Door. The vehicle may have encountered front end damage. An investigation is ongoing to determine the whereabouts of the driver involved in the hit-and-run collision.
