A 23-year-old woman suffered major injuries after a solo rollover crash on Highway 101 near Los Alamos in Santa Maria.

“Rollover Collision”

SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA (April 2, 2017) – A 23-year-old female motorist was involved in a single car rollover collision Sunday night, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)

The accident occurred at approximately 10:00 p.m.The vehicle was found resting on its side at the center divider in the southbound lanes of Highway 101, north of Palmer Road. The motorist was pinned inside of the overturned vehicle, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Capt. Dave Zaniboni.

Rescue crews were called to the scene and firefighters used extrication methods to free the motorist from the vehicle. An ambulance transported the victim to Santa Maria Airport where she was then airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of major injuries. Police are currently investigating the accident to determine the cause.
