A 9-year-old Boy suffered major injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run motorcycle crash on Mission Street and Van Ness Avenue in Santa Cruz.
SANTA CRUZ: 9-Year-Old Boy Injured by Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Accident on Mission Street and Van Ness Avenue

SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA (April 9, 2017) – A 9-year-old pedestrian was involved in a hit-and-run motorcycle crash on Mission Street and Van Ness Avenue Sunday afternoon, according to Santa Cruz Police. (map)

The 9-year-old boy and his mother were walking in the crosswalk when motorcycle struck the boy as he was splitting lanes. The motorcyclist fled the scene traveling southbound on Mission Street, according to the Santa Cruz Police officials.

The boy sustained major injuries and was transported to a Bay Area trauma center for treatment of those injuries. Surveillance camera shows footage of a motorcycle traveling in that area shortly before the collision. Police are currently searching for the hit-and-run driver.
