The accident happened around 3:30 pm on Monday at the intersection of Galeton Road and Soledad Canyon Road. A pedestrian was crossing the street on Soledad Canyon Road against the light when they were struck by a gray pickup truck heading westbound.
Paramedics responded to the scene to tend to the pedestrian injured, and they were rushed to the hospital via ambulance. The driver that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities in their investigation.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
