SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA (January 4, 2017) – A pedestrian was hit by a car and left with injuries on Wednesday at the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Crossglade Avenue, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 5:57 pm on Wednesday, at the intersection of Crossglade Avenue and Soledad Canyon Road. A pedestrian was crossing the street inside a marked crosswalk with the right of way, when they were struck by a driver identified only as a male.
The pedestrian sustained injuries and was rushed to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. Initial reports state the pedestrian may have suffered a leg injury. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
