One Man Died, 2 Others Injured in Collision with RV
SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA (December 15, 2016) – One man died and two others were injured in a 3-vehicle collision on Sierra Highway just south of Vasquez Canyon Road. (map)
The crash was reported shortly after 7:35 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2016 on Sierra Highway near Vasquez Canyon Road.
According to reports, a pickup truck driven by an unidentified male, was traveling south on Sierra Highway while a sedan with two occupants was northbound on Sierra and an RV was also traveling northbound directly behind the sedan.
For unknown reasons, the pickup truck veered into the northbound lane, side swiped the sedan, and then collided head-on with the RV.
The driver of the pickup was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the sedan and the driver of the RV were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
