SANTA BARBARA: Work Truck and Volkswagen Golf Collision on Chapala and Islay Streets

“Investigation Ongoing”

SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA (APRIL 12, 2017)– A collision was reported on Tuesday afternoon between a white work pick-up truck and Volkswagen Golf on Chapala and Islay Streets. (map)

The accident happened at approximately 3:50 p.m. and was reported as a broadside collision, with the truck traveling northbound and the Golf driving west. The driver of the Golf, an older female, became trapped inside the vehicle and emergency crews and Santa Barbara City Fire Department had to extricate her from his vehicle.

She was then transported her to a local hospital hospital. The driver of the truck refused transport to the hospital. Both vehicles had airbags deploy upon impact. Police are currently investigating the accident to determine the cause and liability.

“Any injured party involved in an accident will have a bodily injury claim against the negligent driver who caused the accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a car accident and personal injury law firm.
