SANTA BARBARA: Possible Hit-And-Run Accident Hospitalized Motorcyclist at State Street and Las Positas Road

“Ongoing Investigation”

SANTA BARBARA, California (March 6, 2017) – A motorcyclist had to be hospitalized after an alleged hit-and-run crash took place at State Street and Las Positas Road on Monday Afternoon.

The motorcyclist was riding a Ducati south on State Street, when a northbound vehicle turned right in front of his path. The motorcyclist struck the front panel of the vehicle and went over the top of it. Emergency and fire crews arrived at the scene of the crash and treated the injured motorcycle rider in his 50’s. He was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The man’s name and types of injuries have not yet been released.

Meanwhile, the hit-and-run driver fled the scene and was later involved in another accident on Las Positas Road where he continued on to Treasure Drive, near the Samarkand retirement Community. Police are currently investigating the accident.

“We wish a swift and steady recovery for the motorcyclist injured in this collision. Our prayers are with the injured party at this time,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm.

“Parties injured are strongly advised to go to a nearby medical center following a traffic collision if one denies emergency assistance. It can sometimes take several days after the initial collision for pains to set in so it’s recommended to get checked out. All injured drivers and passengers are subject to a claim against the negligent motorist responsible,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a Santa Barbara car accident and personal injury law firm.
