“Bicyclist vs. Garbage Truck”
SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA (MAY 16, 2017) – A Bicyclist was critically injured after colliding with a garbage truck at the 900 block of Mountain Drive Monday morning, according to fire officials.
The bicyclist was riding down Mountain Drive when he began a turn around a sharp curve. The bicyclist and the garbage truck collided, according to Captain Brian Porter. The bicyclist appeared to be in his late 20’s
The cyclist sustained major injuries to the head, neck, and chest. The bicyclist also sustained a possible collapsed lung and was treated at the scene of the crash.
The cyclist was transported by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
