Ford Mustang Crashed on 55 Freeway
SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA (December 13, 2016) – A 24-year-old man was killed in a tragic car crash with another vehicle on the 55 North Freeway on Tuesday evening, reported the OC Register. (map)
The collision occurred at about 10:30 p.m. just north of 17th Street in Santa Ana.
The 24-year-old man from Orange was traveling north on the 55 Freeway in a 2015 Ford Mustang at a high rate of speed when it made changed lanes and struck a 2016 Honda Pilot driven by a 55-year-old Yorba Linda woman.
The impact caused both vehicles to veer toward the right shoulder and crash into the metal guardrail.
The man in the Mustang was transported to Orange County Global Medical Center he was pronounced deceased. The woman in the Pilot was uninjured.
Police are investigating the crash and considering the possibility that the Ford Mustang was racing another vehicle.
