SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA (February 27, 2017) – A man sustained burns in a duplex fire on West 2nd Street on Monday afternoon, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. in the 1830 block of West 2nd Street. A man in his 40’s had to be rescued from a fire that started in a two story duplex. The fire reportedly may have been started by some sort of gas, as witnesses reported hearing an explosion on the second floor, and a window frame and glass were found across the street.

The man was rushed to a burn center; his condition is unknown. Authorities are continuing to investigate the blaze, to determine what started it. A car inside a garage at the duplex sustained heavy damage and both units were badly burned.

“We wish a swift and steady recovery for the man injured in this fire. Our prayers are with the injured party at this time,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm.
