The accident happened around 6:00 am on the southbound 5 Freeway, near the Katella Avenue off-ramp. A gray Hyundai Tucson being driven by a female was struck by a white box truck which immediately continued on down the freeway.
The woman was able to pull her vehicle off the freeway and into a nearby parking lot, but it is unknown if she sustained any injuries from the accident or not. The incident remains under active investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
“A motorist injured at the hands of a hit-and-run driver is subject to a bodily injury claim against the negligent parties insurance, assuming they have insurance once the driver is caught. If the negligent party does not carry auto insurance, injured parties will still have a claim if the motorist carries uninsured motorist coverage on their vehicle also known as UM,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm.
