SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA (December 13, 2016) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a 24-year-old man was killed on Tuesday in a collision on the 55 Freeway, just north of 17th Street. (map)
The CHP reported that a 2015 Ford Mustang, driven by the 24-year-old man, was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on the SR-55 when the Mustang collided with a 2016 Honda Pilot, driven by a 55-year-old Yorba Linda woman. Both vehicles crashed into a metal guardrail as a result of the impact.
The CHP states that the driver of the Mustang was transported to the Orange County Global Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Pilot was unharmed.
