Around 11:30 pm, a tanker truck swerved to avoid deer in the road on Interstate 81, and jackknifed across the highway. As the driver of the tanker truck attempted to straighten out his truck, two vehicles crashed into it, one of which was identified as a gold station wagon.
Three people in one vehicle were all pronounced dead in the collision, and the sole occupant of the second vehicle was also killed. The driver of the semi truck was uninjured, and the accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
