SAN RAFAEL, CALIFORNIA (May 2, 2017) – At least two vehicles were involved in a collision on Tuesday on the 580 Freeway, according to a California Highway Patrol report. (map)
The accident happened around 10:15 am on the westbound side of the 580 Freeway, near Main Street and San Quentin. A white Toyota Corolla and a blue Nissan Sedan were involved in a collision, with as many as four additional vehicles possibly being involved. The Toyota Corolla was reportedly swerving before the accident. A Golden Gate Transportation Bus was also spotted at the scene, but its involvement is unknown.
An ambulance responded to the scene, and at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The accident remained under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
