SAN MARTIN, CALIFORNIA (October 24, 2017) – At least one person sustained major injuries on Tuesday after a car accident on San Martin Avenue, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 7:10 am on Tuesday. A Chevrolet Malibu was exiting the US 101 Ramp onto San Martin Avenue, near Sycamore Avenue. As the Malibu merged onto San Martin, it sideswiped a 2007 Isuzu box truck that had been traveling eastbound on San Martin. The impact caused the box truck to leave the road and crashed into several utility poles before overturning.
Paramedics rushed to the scene, but were initially unable to reach the overturned vehicle, as powerlines had overturned around the van. Once utility workers were able to turn off the power to the affected lines, paramedics were able to reach the driver of the box truck. He was rushed to a hospital with major injuries, and is in unknown condition. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
“Police will gather evidence and conduct interviews with the drivers and witnesses to determine liability” said the attorneys from Lexton Law. “Any injured party involved in an accident will have a bodily injury claim against the negligent driver who caused the accident.”
