SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA (August 2, 2017) – A pedestrian was struck by a car and severely injured after an accident on Merdian Avenue on Wednesday, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened on Wednesday evening, at the intersection of Merdian Avenue and Curtner Avenue. A black car and a white car were involved in a collision for an unknown reason, sending the white car careening into a bus stop and a tree.
A man at the bus stop was struck by the white car and sustained severe injuries. The driver of the white car was rushed to a hospital as well in unknown condition.
The intersection is reportedly known for accidents, and one of the residents on the corner had to build a wall just to prevent cars from ending up in his yard. Since then, he says he’s had to repair the wall twice after damage from cars hitting it. The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
