“A motorist injured at the hands of a hit-and-run driver is subject to a bodily injury claim against the negligent parties insurance, assuming they have insurance once the driver is caught. If the negligent party does not carry auto insurance, injured parties will still have a claim if the motorist carries uninsured motorist coverage on their vehicle also known as UM,” said an attorney from Lexton Law Firm.
