SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA (March 9, 2017) – A car crashed off the Moorpark Avenue overpass on Interstate 280 on Thursday afternoon, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 2:57 p.m. on the southbound side of Interstate 280, near Moorpark Avenue. A car, described as a white Prius, reportedly crashed off the overpass, landing on the right hand shoulder and rolling over before landing upright on its wheels. The Prius reportedly struck a pole on the way down, causing the pole to lean over the freeway from the overpass, and the vehicle to become stuck on the pole.
An ambulance and paramedics responded to the scene to tend to any injuries sustained in the accident. The incident remains under active investigation to determine cause and liability.
