The accident happened on Sunday morning around 12:28 pm on the Capitol Expressway near Snell Avenue. A 25 year old woman driving a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu crossed over the center median and collided head on into a 2004 Lexus carrying a family of three.
The 14 year old boy in the Lexus was tragically pronounced dead a short time after the accident at a local hospital. The driver of the Malibu was also killed in the accident, and the parents of the teenage boy remain in the hospital with major injuries. The investigation is ongoing, but authorities believe the 25 year old female driver of the Malibu was under the influence of alcohol.
