The accident happened at about 2:20 p.m. as the student was crossing the street. The student sustained injuries as a result of the crash and had to be taken to the hospital.
The middle school student was in the seventh grade at North Mountain Middle School which is located about a mile away from the crash site. The name of the victim and the types of injuries sustained have not yet been released. The accident is still being investigated by authorities.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
