Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-280
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA (December 19, 2016) – Several people were hurt Monday morning in a multi-vehicle pileup after a truck spilled rocks onto the 280 South Freeway near the connector to the 101 Freeway. (map)
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 6:30 a.m. Monday morning near the I-280 and Highway 101 interchange.
A preliminary investigation revealed a truck heading southbound on Interstate 280 had spilled loads of rocks on the freeway which caused the multi-car crash.
Several people suffered unspecified injuries in the accident however the extent of the injuries was not revealed.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
