SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA (January 11, 2017) – A pedestrian was injured in a collision on Wednesday on 19th Avenue and Judah Street, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 8:00 pm in the Sunset District Neighborhood, at the intersection of 19th Avenue and Judah Street. A 67 year old man was crossing the street on a green light when he was struck by a car driven by a 65 year old man.
The pedestrian was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. The man that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and is cooperating with local authorities to determine cause and liability as their investigation continues.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
