SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (March 31, 2017) – Two cars were involved in an accident on State Route 163 on Friday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol report. (map)
The accident happened around 8:44 am on the northbound side of State Route 163 near Interstate 8 and Washington Street. A black Mercedes and a black Honda were involved in a collision. The Mercedes was reportedly tailgating a car prior to the accident and tried to pass on the right hand shoulder, before striking the Honda and losing control. A city bus was also stopped at the scene of the accident, but it is unknown if it was involved or simply a witness.
An ambulance responded to the scene, but the condition of those involved in the accident is unknown at this time. The accident remains under investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
