34-Year-Old Woman Arrested After Fatal DUI Collision in 4S Ranch
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (December 17, 2016) – A San Diego woman is dead after a head-on crash with a drunk driver on Camino Del Norte just east of Camino San Bernardo on Saturday night, reported NBC San Diego. (map)
The deadly car accident occurred at 11:48 p.m. on Camino Del Norte just east of Camino San Bernardo in the 4S Ranch community.
A preliminary investigation revealed a Toyota Sienna was traveling east on a westbound street when it crashed head-on into an oncoming Toyota Corolla.
Sadly, the driver of the Corolla, identified as Sarita Shakya, 38, of San Diego, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Sienna, identified only as 34-year-old woman, sustained major injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury as well as vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
