Driver Arrested After Hit-and-Run Collision

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (December 14, 2016) –  A man was injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Wednesday night near El Cajon Boulevard and 50th Street in the City Heights area, reported NBC San Diego. (map)

The collision occurred at about 8:30 p.m. when a 27-year-old man, who was crossing north on El Cajon Boulevard at 50th Street, was hit by a westbound Toyota Corolla.

The victim was thrown onto the hood of the Toyota which caused damage to the windshield. The Toyota fled the scene and struck two other parked vehicles before coming to a stop.

The man was transported to Mercy Hospital with head injuries.

The woman driver of the Toyota, identified as  44-year-old Joy Wehde was questioned by police and arrested. Her charges are unknown
