SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (February 6, 2017) – A pedestrian was hit by a car and injured on Monday evening on Black Mountain Road, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident occurred around 6:45 pm on Monday, at the intersection of Black Mountain Road and Carroll Canyon Road. A 46 year old man exited his car and began walking northbound, when he was struck by a Toyota Prius.
The pedestrian was rushed to a nearby hospital by responding medical personnel after the accident. The driver of the Prius, a 70 year old man, was not hurt and remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities in their investigation.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
