SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (April 7, 2017) – A pedestrian was hit by a car on Pacific Coast Highway on Friday evening, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 11:19 pm at the intersection of Pacific Highway and Laurel Street. A pedestrian was crossing the street within a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a small gray SUV.

The pedestrian was tragically declared dead at the scene of the accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability, and it is unknown whether the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene.
