SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (April 27, 2017) – Multiple vehicles were involved in a collision on Interstate 8 on Thursday, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 10:37 am. A vehicle overturned for an unknown reason, and at least three other cars collided into the overturned vehicle. A fifth car may also have been involved. One of the vehicles also caught on fire as a result of the accident, reportedly a red Mitsubishi that may have been driving erratically prior to the accident.
Paramedics responded to the scene to tend to any injuries sustained in the accident. At least one person fled the scene on foot, reportedly from the vehicle that caught on fire that was driving strangely. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
