“Driver Killed, Passenger Injured”
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (April 24, 2017) – A man was killed and his female passenger was injured in an accident on the 52 Freeway on Monday evening, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened on the 52 Freeway near Convoy Street and near the 805 Freeway. A 48 year old man was riding a motorcycle with a female passenger on the back when he was involved in a collision with a Honda Civic for an unknown reason. The impact threw both riders off the motorcycle, and the motorcycle was then struck by a Hyundai sedan and caught on fire.
The operator of the motorcycle was tragically declared dead at the scene as a result of their injuries. The female passenger, a woman in her 40s, sustained major injuries and was rushed to a hospital in unknown condition. The accident remains under active investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
