SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (February 27, 2017) – A semi truck was involved in a multi car accident on Interstate 5 on Monday, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The accident happened around 11:40 a.m. on the northbound side of the 5 Freeway, near Via De La Valle. A semi-truck and three other vehicles were involved in a collision that left the semi-truck jackknifed on the freeway. The impact was enough to snap the semi’s axle and cause it’s right rear tire to break off.
The condition of all those involved is unknown at this time, however, an ambulance responded to the scene to tend to any injuries sustained. The accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol at this time.
