Fatal Pedestrian Collision Under Investigation
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (December 8, 2016) – An elderly pedestrian died Thursday after he was struck by a car while crossing a street in Rancho Penasquitos, reported the San Diego County Medical Examiner. (map)
The crash occurred at about 6:03 p.m. at the intersection of Rancho Penasquitos Boulevard and Calle de las Rosas.
The victim, identified as Gam Fee Lee, 81, was crossing Rancho Penasquitos Boulevard in a crosswalk when he was hit by a Honda Odyssey traveling at 40 – 45 miles per hour.
Gam Fee Lee was transported to the Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla emergency department where he was pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts.
The driver of the Honda remained at the scene.
The San Diego Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
