SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (February 27, 2017) – A fire truck was involved in a collision on Interstate 805 on Monday, according to a California Highway Patrol report. (map)
The accident happened around 10:50 a.m. on the northbound side of Interstate 805, near Interstate 8. A fire truck was reportedly responding to an accident site when it was struck by a sedan, possibly a silver Honda Civic. Three vehicles were seen in the center divider, and their involvement is unknown.
The involved sedan immediately fled the scene after the accident, and a second fire truck was called to the scene, possibly for injuries sustained in the accident. The condition of the firefighters inside the fire truck is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
