The victim has been identified by his family as Andrew Louis.
The fatal traffic accident occurred sometime during the morning hours Wednesday when a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Andrew Louis, went off of southbound Interstate 805 at State Route 905 and landed in the backyard of a home in Otay Mesa.
The homeowner, Oscar Luna, discovered the vehicle in his backyard when he went to turn off his Christmas Lights. Luna is now afraid for the safety of his family due to the fact that their home is so close to the freeway.
Investigators have not determined what led up to the crash or an exact time it happened.
If your loved one was involved in a single-vehicle crash, then you must gather evidence as soon as possible. Often times, these types of crashes can be attributed to other motorists on the road, dangerous road conditions, ineffective guardrails, or mechanical failures, such as a tire blow out.
