“Pedestrian vs Vehicle Fatality”
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (February 16, 2017) – A 59-year-old woman and 64-year-old male pedestrian were struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning on Mira Mesa Blvd and Marbury Avenue, according to the San Diego Police Department. (map)
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m., when a 26-year-old driver of a Honda Sedan, traveling eastbound collided with both pedestrians while in the crosswalk at the intersection of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Marbury Avenue. Tragically, the 59-year-old woman pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The 64-year-old male pedestrian was transported to the hospital for treatment of critical head injuries and a broken femur.
The 26-year-old driver remained at the scene. The accident is currently under investigation.
