SAN DIEGO , CALIFORNIA (March 1, 2017) – A woman was left with severe injuries after she was hit by a car in the parking lot of the Home Depot on Saturn Boulevard, according to a local news source. (map)
The woman, identified only as an 80 year old, was pushing her shopping cart as she was leaving the Home Depot on Saturn Boulevard. A vehicle then struck her cart, knocking her down and causing her to hit her head hard on the pavement.
The elderly woman was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, and her current condition is unknown at this time. The accident remains under investigation, and the driver that struck the pedestrian has been identified as a 55-year-old man.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
