“Cyclist vs. Vehicle Accident”
REDLANDS, CALIFORNIA (July 29, 2017) – A 55-year-old man was involved in a vehicle collision while on a motorized bicycle on Alabama Street near Pionerr Street Saturday evening, according to Redlands Police. (map)
The accident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. The cyclists was traveling on Alabama street north of Pioneer Street when a 2010 Subaru Impreza, driven by a 20-year-old man traveling south, struck the cyclist. The driver left the scene. Moments later the cyclist was hit by another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with officials, according to city spokesman Carl Baker.
Paramedics were called to the scene and transported the cyclist to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Approximately two hours later, the 20-year-old driver reported that he had been involved in the collision and cooperated with police.
No arrests were. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
