SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (August 16, 2017) – At least two people sustained injuries on Wednesday when a VIA bus struck a parked car with a man inside, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 5:00 pm in the 2400 block of Ruiz Street, near NW 22nd Street. A VIA bus struck a parked black truck with a man inside, and the impact pushed the parked car into three other parked vehicles with nobody inside.
The man inside the vehicle was pinned inside and had to be extricated by emergency personnel. He was rushed to University Hospital, and the driver of the bus was also hospitalized. There were two passengers on the bus at the time of the accident, and their condition is unknown. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
