SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (March 9, 2017) – At least one person has been pronounced dead after a collision with a semi-truck on Bangerter Highway and California Avenue on Thursday morning, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened sometime before 5:30 am on Bangerter Highway near California Avenue. A green Ford Taurus collided with a semi for an unknown reason and ended up stuck beneath the semi truck.

The driver of the Taurus was tragically pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the accident, and the investigation is ongoing at this time to determine cause and liability.
