SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (September 20, 2017) – A 3 year old girl lost two fingers in a terrible accident with an escalator on Wednesday, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened at Smith’s Marketplace at 455 S. 500 E in Salt Lake City. A 3 year old girl reportedly got her fingers stuck in an escalator, then lost both fingers at the second knuckle.

The toddler was rushed to Primary Children’s Medical Center, where she remains in unknown condition. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability.
