SALINAS, CALIFORNIA (January 20, 2017) – A 35 year old woman was killed in a tragic accident on Friday night involving two vehicles on Highway 68, according to local news sources. (map)
The accident happened around 10:40 pm on the eastbound side of Highway 68 near Torero Drive. 35 year old Deysi C. Jimenez was driving a 2004 Suzuki SUV westbound on Highway 68 when she allegedly veered into the eastbound lanes. An eastbound 1999 Mazda pickup truck driven by a 55 year old man collided with the SUV’s driver side.
Deysi Jimenez was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by responding medical personnel. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 55 year old Ronald A Purser, suffered minor injuries in the accident. The incident remains under active investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
