CHP Public Information Officer Darren Meyer reported that a 2009 Scion XB, driven by 53-year-old Tracie Bell, was traveling northbound on Sage Road around 7:29 A.M. when Bell veered onto the southbound lane and crashed head-on into a Nissan Versa, driven by Dawn Murphy.
Officer Meyer states that Murphy was trapped inside her vehicle as a result of the collision and had to be extricated with the jaws of life. Murphy succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene while Bell was transported to Inland Valley Hospital with major injuries.
