SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (January 4, 2017) – Two cars were involved in an accident on the 5 Freeway on Wednesday afternoon, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident was first reported around 4:01 pm on the southbound side of the 5 freeway near Airport Boulevard. A sedan of unidentified make and model was involved in a collision with a Dodge pickup truck for an unknown reason.

The truck was found in a ditch from the impact, and reportedly one party from the vehicles was attempting to hide in the nearby bushes. The condition of those involved is unknown at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
