SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (February 21, 2017) – A pedestrian was struck by a car and killed on Tuesday night on 14th Avenue near Stockton Boulevard, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 8:11 p.m. on 14th Avenue near Stockton Boulevard. A pedestrian, identified only as a male, was struck by a vehicle as he attempted to cross 14th Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk. The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.

The driver that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities in their investigation. Police are currently investigating the collision to determine liability.
