“Pedestrian vs. Vehicle Collision”
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (MAY 30, 2017) – A Two vehicle collision resulted in a pedestrian fatality Tuesday evening, according to the Sacramento Police Department. (map)
The crash occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. when a car and truck, traveling westbound on West Capital Avenue, collided into one another. The truck then hit a female pedestrian standing near a bus stop, according to West Sacramento Police Sgt. Roger Kinney.
The female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the truck, later identified as 23-year-old Gerardo Lopez,was held n suspicion of felony DUI and on a suspended license. An investigation is ongoing to determine the details of the accident.
