“Motorcycle vs. Truck Fatality”
ROHNERT PARK, CALIFORNIA (August 23, 2017) – 23-year-old Fabian Carreras-Hermosillo was involved in a vehicle collision on Snyder Lane Wednesday evening, according to the Rohnert Park Police Department. (map)
The accident occurred at approximately 5:56 p.m. Carreras-Hermosillo was riding a 2008 Honda CBR 600 traveling southbound on Synder Lane at about 35 mph. A 1999 Ford Ranger traveling north on Synder Lane turned left into the University Square shopping center cutting into the pathway of Carreras-Hermosill who had no time to adjust.
Carreras-Hermosill struck the side of the Ranger and was ejected off the motorcycle and landed onto the street. The Ranger, driven by 63-year-old Robert Bosch, hit a sign and stopped. Bosch began to walk away from the scene until officers detained him and notices Bosch showed signs of being intoxicated.
Carreras-Hermosill sustained major injuries and succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital.
Bosch was arrested on suspicion of DUI and felony gross vehicular manslaughter.
